John Wells - 2 Months

I feel like I am emerging from the newborn fog a bit. 2 months seems to be our lucky month! After starting off being a very gassy baby and bad reflux, both of those issues seem to have calmed down and the meds seem to be working. :)

Here's what JW is up to this month:
- you are eating 4 oz
- started smiling at 8 weeks and hasn't stopped since
- starting cooing at us
- sleeps through the night!!! I've been scared if I actually told anyone it would jinx us, but he has consistently been doing it for 2 weeks now!
- takes cat naps through day still, but a more stable morning and afternoon nap
- keep all of his pretty hair
- has gotten super chunky...anxious to see his weight at the doctor

I think now that we are all getting more sleep around here that we are all enjoying each other a lot more! Ha! Can't wait to see all the new things we are doing next month!

John Wells - 1 Month

Can't believe how fast a month has gone by with our little guy. He is changing so quickly it's crazy. We are loving our time with both our sweet boys. Some days (when I'm not overly tired from the night before) I sit there and reflect on how amazingly blessed/lucky we are. We have two healthy boys. I am loving life as a mom of boys too. There is such a special bond a mom shares with her boys. Not to mention I love watching both of them with Manny. James adores Manny and I know it's only a matter of time before John Wells feels the same. Here are a few things John Wells is up to this past month of life:

- You eat anywhere from 3-4oz
- You are awake a lot more during the day
- You usually sleep about 3.5-5 hour stretched at night...hoping we do longer stretches soon
- You like to nap on your tummy
- You have lost some of your hair but seem to be hanging on to a good portion of it!
- I think you are looking more and more like my side of the family...you favor Stella in a lot of her baby pictures
- You love to be held
- You love bath time just like James did. In fact one bath you practically slept through the whole thing. It really relaxes you!

We are so in love with this sweet little angel and can't wait to see how much he has changed in another month!

Not a big fan of the first bath

So handsome

He has changed so much

Hip Hip Hooray!

Better late than never

As you can see life has been super busy with two little ones. It's been a lot of fun, but this Mama is exhausted. Needless to say, writing in my blog has been the last thing on my list of things to do. I am way late at posting pictures from our first Christmas as a family of 4. Here are a few pictures from that sweet day. It was so much fun having John Wells here to celebrate!

So stinkin cute in his new slippers

John Wells Rodrigues

On December 18th at 5:10am Manny and I welcomed our 2nd baby boy to this world. John Wells (yes we live in the south and are calling him by a double name) weighed in at 7lbs 2oz 20in. His weight was the exact weight of his brother. Only difference was the inches. James was 19 3/4in. We are so in love with him and can't imagine life without him!

Christmas Cookies

Last year we missed the annual Christmas cookie day at Mimi and Pop's but this year we made sure that we did it! After a week of James being sick and me feeling super pregnant I wasn't sure if we would actually do it. But by the time we got to Thursday after being couped up in the house all week it was time for a little fun with my sister, Stella and Mimi!

James didn't really want any help, so I gave him a pile of dough and just let him play with it like it was playdough. Ha! This year we decided to try a new dough recipe and it was AMAZING! We also decided to make Peanut Butter Hershey Kiss Cookies that were dynamite!!!

Here are some pics from our fun day!

It's fun making a mess

Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was spent here in Charlotte. My oldest sister came up from Georgia with her three kids (#4 is on the way!!) and her hubby! And my other sister was kind enough to host us all. It was such a wonderful day though. I love seeing all the kids together playing. Even though there is the occasional screaming fit they truly love being together. I was just thankful for us all to be together. If we were still living I don't think we would have been able to make the trip down due to my pregnancy. At the end of the night my Dad asked us all to talk about ways that God revealed himself to us or showed up. It was neat to go around and here what everyone had to say. It's been a hard year in our family for many reasons, but the one thing that has remained constant and true has been the presence of the Lord and the fact that the ONLY reason we are all able to feel thankfulness for anything is because of Him!
Here is our day in pictures:
