A Product Must!

I am a firm believer that if you find an amazing product then you MUST share it with others. Why keep all that goodness to yourself?

For years I have been using all sorts of random skin products. You name it I tried it. None of them ever quite did the job. Sure my skin was decent and didn't have too many breakouts but the older I am getting I really wanting something that was going to preserve my skin. That would been an anti-aging product. Something that worked though. Not that just said it was anti-aging. I finally found it!

After giving Manny the whole talk about how my skin would be with me the rest of my life and that I needed to start taking care of it, he finally agreed to make the investment and get this wonderful product for me!

What is it you ask? It's Rodan and Fields Anti Aging Regimen.

My sweet friend Missy Schrader sells this line and has literally been talking to me about it for months. All I had to do was look at her skin as well as others that I know use the product and I was sold. Their skin looks GREAT! I am only a few days into this and am already in love! My skin feels great and looks great. Even Manny commented on it. There are also other types in this line depending on your skin type. There is even a questionairre that you can do online that helps you to determine the best one to use. Here is Missy's website that you can look at all the products for yourself: HERE

Bragging Moment

I figure since this is my blog I can brag on whomever whenever I want right? :) I have to brag on my sweet older sister Kelly. Yesterday we got our little Valentine's package from them. In it there was a very cool piece of art she made for me and an amazing gift for James. Kelly for sure got ALL creative jeans in our family. She is always coming up with fun crafts, cool art and creative ideas for scripture. Jackie and I have always been jealous of this trait.

Onto my gift....Kelly knows how homesick I am these day. Truly she gets is cause she lives away from our family as well. So she made me this adorable canvas to set on an easel in our house. It'll be a constant reminder of home and I LOVE it.

For James she made her famous scripture cards, but the version for Kids. I LOVE it. It goes through every letter in the alphabet and with each letter she has a verse that goes with that letter. I can't wait to sit and go through these with James especially when he can begin to say the verses. Just love when kids get to hear the TRUTH at an early age! You too can get these scripture cards for adults or for kids. Just shoot me a message!

Thank you so much Aunt KK for loving on us in such a creative and special way! I can only hope that I am as great as you as a mom, wife and friend. We love you!

Pinterest Treats

Not only does Pinterest make me want to do lots of DIY projects, it also makes me want to cook and bake! I have tried several yummy things, but this past week I had two successes! First one was a Blueberry Breakfast Cake. It was delicious and super easy to make. I had al the ingredients except the blueberries and buttermilk. Good one to make for a special breakfast or when you have company in town. Here is the link to the recipe: here

 James loved it too!

Second was for Valentines Day I made this Yummy and fancy looking dish. It was Chicken Rollup Lasagnas. Manny was quite impressed with me and they were delicious. Next time I make them though I will be adding Spinach and finely chopped mushrooms. It was so easy to make. Truly...didn't take much time and was simple steps. This will now be apart of my "go to meals". You can find the recipe here

ENJOY all these yummy treats. I'll continue to post all the great things that I try off of Pinterest!

DIY

I've turned rather crafty since moving to Boston. I would not classify myself as crafty, creative...none of it. But since moving I have a bit more time on my hands so I've decided to do something with it. All the while trying to save a little $$. I had this old lamp that my mom had given me in our old house. It was a very unattractive brass lamp. We need a new lamp in James' room, but I really didn't want to spend the money. SO...I decided to get to work on the lamp we have. I went to Lowes and got the necessary tools....ie. SPRAY PAINT! I was amazed when I got there at all the different colors to choose from. I went with good ole classic white. Here is the process step by step:

 1. Take your lamp. Wipe it down with a wet cloth, then cover all areas you would rather not get painted

 2. Day 1 I painted two coats of primer on the lamp and let dry completely overnight

 3. Day 2: wipe lamp down and then spray you Protective Enamel coat. I did two coats of this as well

 3. Day 3: I sprayed one coat of the clear enamel. These are the players above. From left to right was the order that I used them.

Here is the final product. I am very happy with it. Only thing I would have done different is I would have sanded it in between each step to get some of the bubbles out. Other than that I LOVE it!

It works perfect on James' changing table and provides the right amount of light I was looking for. Burlap Shade was found at Target.
